Object-Based Sound Synthesis
نویسندگان
چکیده
The physical modeling of complex sound generators would be feasible if approached by individually synthesizing and discretizing the objects that contribute to the generation of sounds. This raises the problem of show to correctly implement the interaction between these objects. In this paper we show how to synthesize sounds in an object-based fashion, i.e. by building objects individually synthesized and making them interact with each other through the modeling of a potential interaction topology. We will also show how this interaction topology can be made dynamical and time varying.

Towards Physics-based Control and Sound Synthesis of Multi-agent Systems: Application to Synthetic Hand Clapping
Physics-based sound synthesis methods excel in their efficiency, expressiveness, and intuitive control, but they usually focus on a single sound source. Extending the control strategies to multiple sound sources is not straightforward because of the self-organization and complex group behavior exhibited by a large population of objects. By regarding each object of such a population as an agent,...
متن کاملObject-Based Sound Source Modeling for Musical Signals
This study presents a framework for audio and music processing which consists of an analysis and a synthesis path that are connected at three representational levels. Auditory signal analysis techniques include a multi-pitch analysis model, an eventdetector, and sinusoidal modeling that are combined in an iterative sound separation system. Techniques are presented for detection of perceptually ...
متن کاملLazy Evaluation in Microsound Synthesis
The microsound synthesis framework in the LC computer music programing language integrates objects and library functions that can directly represent microsounds and related manipulations for microsound synthesis. Together with the mechanism that enables seamless collaboration with the unit-generator-based sound synthesis framework, such abstraction can help provide a simpler and terser programi...
متن کاملSound Object Classification for Symbolic Audio Mosaicing: a Proof-of-concept
Sample-based music composition often involves the task of manually searching appropriate samples from existing audio. Audio mosaicing can be regarded as a way to automatize this process by specifying the desired audio attributes, so that sound snippets that match these attributes are concatenated in a synthesis engine. These attributes are typically derived from a target audio sequence, which m...
متن کاملEluding the Physical Constraints in a Nonlinear Interaction Sound Synthesis Model for Gesture Guidance
In this paper, a flexible control strategy for a synthesis model dedicated to nonlinear friction phenomena is proposed. This model enables to synthesize different types of sound sources, such as creaky doors, singing glasses, squeaking wet plates or bowed strings. Based on the perceptual stance that a sound is perceived as the result of an action on an object we propose a genuine source/filter ...
متن کاملLocal Sound Field Synthesis by Virtual Acoustic Scattering and Time-Reversal
Sound field synthesis techniques, like Wave Field Synthesis and near-field compensated higher order Ambisonics, aim at synthesizing a desired sound field within an extended area using an ensemble of individually driven loudspeakers. Local sound field synthesis techniques achieve an increased accuracy within a restricted local listening area at the cost of stronger artefacts outside. This paper ...
